5 ...4...3 ...2 ...1 ...Blast Off!

Today, we discovered that something had crashed landed in our outdoor classroom! We discovered a basket, a teddy, some wellies, an owl, a colander and a packet of biscuits!!
The children used their thinking skills to to try and work out what happened. We talked about the colander and what it was used for, who might wear the wellies and what was in the basket!
Inside the basket we found the story book 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy.
This story will help us launch our new, exciting project, ‘54321…. Blast off!’ and will learn about space.  We loved seeing Baby Bear shooting off into space in his rocket, so now we've decided to learn all about space for ourselves!

We had such fun learning about Space! We learnt about the planets and stars, we went on a space rocket journey to the moon, we watched real astronauts and saw them float around! What would it be like if we didn't have gravity on Earth? We built a huge NASA den, with a control panel......it seems we have some budding cosmonauts!

We invite you to join us for a 'Space Show' performed by the children to showcase some of
their learning from this project. We ask that it is attended by one adult per child. It will be
held on Friday 29th November at 2.15pm.
