DT skills
The Year 2 children got to work with some DT skills in preparation for their baked potato fillings! They learnt and practiced a variety of skills in order to help them be prepared before creating their own baked potato fillings!
They had lots of fun practicing slicing, chopping, grating, peeling, sprinkling, weighing, sifting, mixing, whisking, crumbling, dolloping, spooning, squirting and cutting.
Topic Outcome - Taste Testing Our Potato Fillings!
This is the part of the Topic that all the children wait excitedly for... taste-testing their chosen fillings! Before this stage, all of the children taste-tested a variety of different ingredients in order to pick their final fillings!
There were some approvals and disapprovals. All of the fillings were prepped by the children themselves in their groups using all of their DT skills that they have been practicing previously.
The children then wrote down their findings to the Potato Robber to persuade him to return our Mr Potato Head parts in return for an interesting potato filling that they have made. The children never fail to disappoint him, as he liked them all!
